Tunbridge Wells Green Party deplores Rishi Sunak’s dangerous and desperate decision to abandon any real action on our climate commitments. It will mean more climate chaos, higher bills and dirtier air. He’s letting down the people of Tunbridge Wells and across the country.
The solutions to the climate crisis are also the solutions to the cost-of-living crisis. A nationwide home insulation programme would bring down costs and emissions as well as improving our health and well-being. Proper investment in renewables would reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and bring down energy bills fast. Affordable, reliable public transport would reduce our traffic and clean up our air.
Only the Green Party has the political will to take the action demanded by the science and by the public and build a fairer, greener country.
