May 2024 Local Election Results

Fantastic results locally in Kent and Sussex where there are now 10 Green Councillors in Maidstone and 9 in Hastings. In Tunbridge Wells we stood a full slate of 18 candidates across 14 wards so that everyone in the borough had a chance to vote Green if they wanted to. Whilst we’re obviously disappointed not to have got one of us over the line and elected to council, we were delighted with the fact that 5,485 voters put their cross against a Green candidate. We achieved a 17% vote share in Rural Tunbridge Wells and 12% in Pantiles and with 7% of the vote across the board, a proportional voting system would have elected two Green councillors. So much to be positive about as we look ahead.

In the meantime we’ll be back on the campaign trail with lots of events coming up. We’ve joined forces with local environmental groups to form the Tunbridge Wells Climate Coalition and we’re looking forward to working with Amplifi as we work towards a more sustainable borough.
