There are lots of ways to get involved with the Green Party in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding towns and villages which include Benenden, Bidborough, Brenchley, Capel, Goudhurst, Hawkhurst, Horsmonden, Lamberhurst, Matfield, Paddock Wood, Pembury, Rusthall, Sandhurst and Speldhurst.
We’re a small but lively party and want to punch well above our weight when it comes to elections. That’s not all we do though – we’re active in all kinds of ways. If you’re interested in taking part in anything we do, we’d love to hear from you.
Volunteer
We always welcome volunteers to help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver our newsletters to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?
One more Labour, Lib Dem or Conservative councillor won’t make a big difference, but a Green councillor would!

We promise not to bombard you but we will be in touch slightly more often at election times. We’re committed to keeping your email address safe and won’t pass it on to anyone else. Join The Green Party
As a member you can be as active as you like from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election. We meet up regularly in different venues across Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding villages for meetings and socials and there are events for everyone from local litter picks to regional rallies. We’re working with other local environmental groups and have formed the Tunbridge Wells Climate Coalition as we campaign for a sustainable, carbon neutral borough. Keep an eye on our diary of events.
Stand for Council
Councillors at all levels in Tunbridge Wells can make a huge difference, from putting great ideas into practice to holding other parties to account. A councillor doesn’t need to be an expert in politics – they just need to be enthusiastic, keen to make difference, and a member of the Green Party.
Tunbridge Wells Green Party currently has parish councillors across the borough, we’re aiming to gain a seat on Tunbridge Wells Borough Council at the next local elections so we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers.
If you’re wondering what’s involved, do get in touch with us – we can tell you everything you need to know, introduce you to people who’ve been councillors and can share their experiences and we’ll help you all the way if you decide to stand. Don’t be put off if you don’t have much time – you can still stand and we can explain how.
Talk to our Membership Secretary Steph first – she’s at membership@tunbridgewells.greenparty.org.uk or come along to one of our meetings or events. We’d love to meet you!
